Sunday Morning Worship
We gather at 10:00 am in our beautiful, and historic sanctuary that comfortably seats 125 people. Our worship style is designed to support the many journeys we come to know God, and serve others. In keeping with our desire to be open, progressive, and welcoming of all we want everyone who comes through our doors to feel comfortable during our worship service. We dress casually, and speak from the heart. Our style has been described as spiritual, traditional, all age friendly, and about one hour in length. The Sacraments of Baptism and Communion are offered throughout the year.
Following worship, a time of refreshments and fellowship is held in the Upper Hall.
Chocolate Truffle is an important part of our welcoming and pastoral care for all ages.
Our Minister: Rev. Kate Young
Kate was born and educated in London, Ontario but considers herself a small town girl at heart. She has deep roots in the Lake Huron community of Kincardine. Kate has been in ministry in the United Church since 1987, serving congregations in south Saskatchewan, Northern Ontario, mid-Western Ontario, Mississauga and Toronto. She and her husband Neil have three grown daughters. In her spare time, Kate swims, reads murder mysteries, and enjoys any British television shows. She is not a cook or a baker but appreciates it very much when others do that for her.
Our Music Director: Rita Lamplugh
Rita was born and educated in England. She studied voice, piano and theory at the Royal College of Music in London for three years. Rita taught high school music in England before coming to Canada in 1968. She has been a private music teacher in voice, piano and music theory since 1970 – first for 14 years in St. Bruno, south of Montreal and since then in Oakville. Rita is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Association. She has been the Music Director at Munn’s since 1989.
Our Office Administrator: Brenda Westcott
Born and raised in Kitchener, Brenda spent her 20’s on the move, including a five-year stint in the Middle East before settling in Oakville in 1988 with her husband and two sons.
Brenda has spent her working career in accounting and finance and has experience with construction companies, large retailers, and non-profits. She is a keen reader, an animal lover, dragon boater, power walker and aspiring biker who enjoys the outdoors. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her sons, daughters-in-law and her two grandsons.
Choral Opportunities at Munn’s
We love music! Our chancel choir is open to anyone who wants to sing, there are no auditions- just a willing spirit, a commitment to Thursday evening practices-and a desire to learn.
